D.M.A. (Dave) Hollaway, B.A., AIC
Dave Hollaway is the Principal Manager of Forensic Aerospace Associates, L.L.C. and has more than 25 years of aviation and investigative experience. Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Physiology from the University of North Carolina. He holds an FAA Private Pilot Certificate and has held commercial, instrument and multi-engine ratings from the Costa Rican DGAC and has more than 3,000 hours of flight experience as pilot-in-command or as a regulatory required crewmember. In Costa Rica, Dave flew for a number of years as a line captain in the Beechcraft B100 King Air turboprop.
Dave Hollaway is a graduate of the FAA/DOT Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) with courses in Aircraft Accident Investigation, Turbine Engine Accident Investigation, Rotorcraft Safety and Accident Investigation, Human Factors in Aircraft Accident Investigation, Aircraft Cabin Safety Investigation, and Aviation Safety Officer Course from the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Aircraft Accident Prevention Management Program from the U.S. Army Aviation Safety Center at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Dave Hollaway has completed the aerospace physiology course and aviation maintenance technician training at the NASA Johnson Space Center and the Airline Training Orientation Program for the Boeing 737 at Continental Airlines. On active duty with the U.S. Army, Mr. Hollaway served as a Utility Helicopter Repairer on the Bell UH-1H Iroquois (Huey). He currently serves as an Auxiliary Aircrewman at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Houston, and as an Aviation Safety Counselor for the FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in Houston, Texas. Dave Hollaway has completed training certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) for basic, intermediate and advanced reserve peace officer. He has attended the Advanced Civil Trial Law, Advanced Personal Injury Law, and Deceptive Trade Practices courses sponsored by the State Bar of Texas and has earned an Associate in Claims (AIC) rating from the Insurance Institute of America and is a licensed insurance adjuster in the State of Texas specializing in aviation casualty adjusting. In addition to the overall management of Forensic Aerospace Associates, L.L.C., Mr. Hollaway consults in business and commercial aviation issues, conducts aviation safety audits and training, aircraft valuation and appraisals, and forensic analyses of aircraft mishaps and accidents. Dave Hollaway is affiliated with the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI); American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); NTSB Bar Association; Helicopter Association International (HAI); Association for Aviation Psychology; Aircraft Owner's and Pilot's Associations (AOPA); National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. |
